Palmer Vineyards Reserve Merlot
|Region||United States, New York, North Fork of Long Island|
Intense color and flavor extraction during the initial fermentation stages led to the development of black berry fruit aromas and rich texture on the palate. Fourteen months of barrel aging in oak cooperage, with periodic racking and gentle aeration, allowed this Merlot to develop its fullest potential character. Stylistically, the Merlot resembles those wines produced in the famous St. Emillion region of France. Showing soft tannins and smoky oak, this Merlot exhibits herbal earthy tones with berry fruit flavors. Its rich color and supple structure fare equally well with red meats, pork, and demi-glace based sauces.
